Holidays...

The last few weeks have gone by in a blur at times! I have had a hard time keeping up with it.

We had Thanksgiving at our house this year, with all the family, and honestly it was nice, but by 7pm that night I was spent! Physically and emotionally. The kids and I cleaned the house the day before, and we had 2 turkeys, and made the stuffing and gravy. Of which all came out great! But after everyone had left and I cleaned the kitchen and did the last of the dishes. I realized I'm getting old!

Ok I know this is a bit random, but I wish I had slowed down just a bit. I don't even remember what the food all tasted like. Or what I even ate. I was in autopilot... I went through the motions and took photos, and made sure the gravy wasn't too runny and then divied up the leftovers. I got into bed exhausted and wondered if I took the time to even enjoy the day, was it a good? Did everyone eat enough? Did I get it all put away?....
I learned a little, but interesting lesson; Slow down. Enjoy the day. And not over-think the food!!!
