Breakfast rolls with a twist
Breakfast Rolls with a Twist.
I make breakfast for my husband who eats them on his way to work. So I am always thinking of different things for him so he is not getting sick of the same thing. I thought of a Great idea I love cinnamon rolls but my husband does not like sweet things in the morning so I thought of anther way.
Recipe:
I use a basic dough recipe for cinnamon rolls but don't add as much sugar.
2c warm water
1/3 c oil
1 1/2 T yeast
2 eggs
2 T sugar
1/2 T salt
and enough flour to make the dough not sticky. I used half whole wheat and half white flour.
Than you roll it out in a rectangle shape about 1/3 inch think, you don't want to roll it out too thin.
Scramble about six eggs with some salt for taste
Cook about eight strips of bacon and place on paper towel to cool.
On dough I spread half butter and half salsa but you can do all butter or all salsa.
Next you sprinkle the eggs all over and than crush the bacon up and sprinkle it on top and last you sprinkle grated cheese I used cheddar but you can add whichever you prefer.
Then you roll it up and cut 1 inch thick and place on a greased pan and let rise till almost double the size, and bake at 375 for about 15-20 minutes till lightly golden.
You can freeze them an reheat in the microwave.
And of course enjoy!
