We had another litter of puppies this year....This was NOT planned! Lady was not supposed to go into heat until late September or October, but she decided to surprise us when we got home from our summer vacation in July! So here we are again.
Her last litter was her first so we kind of knew what to expect with her pregnancy and delivery. She was a hungry momma most of the pregnancy.

We had no idea how many puppies she would have this time around. She had 5 the first time. after only 3 ties (confirmed breedings) Lady was from a litter of 8 and her mom, sister and grandmother are very fertile! any where from 7 to 10 puppies per litter!
Lady went into labor on Sept 9th, Emily's birthday! Baby #1 was a big black male.
She labored for a total of 4 hours and had 5 healthy babies. The kids and I had fun coming up with names for this litter, we have by birth order Zeus, Cassiopeia, Dianthus, Apollo and Athena. We went Greek!
Here they are playing at 3 weeks old. Eyes open and ears finally open. They were just starting to crawl around.
