So I live in southern California. Its awesome and I love it but sometimes, like everywhere it gets boring. So instead of staying were is hot, smoggy and just plain to much, Shawn some friends and I decided we needed to get away to Mammoth Mountain. Who knew snow was only 4.5hrs away! Driving to the mountain it was almost 90 degrees and I was skeptical that there would be any snow what so ever on the hills. Turns out it had been snowing all week before we got there and most of the slopes had the fluffiest powder.
Our lift was a little lopsided :)
Shawn was in love and honestly the views were breathtaking!
I take after my momma, the lift was the scariest part! I hate heights!
Right over that ridge it down at a 90 degree angle. It was steep, scary and a blast.
Shawn was a natural. The first day he didn't fall once. I on the other had was down more than up :p
Day two started off a little sore with both of us a bit worse for wear.
First run and I didn't fall!!! It was like a late Christmas miracle!
Okay, WOW just WOW
Skiing was one heck of a workout! I was so cute all red nosed and sweaty!
Shawn stayed by my side the whole weekend! He was my very large rock!
My stomach is in my throat at this moment because I'm about to go off the 90 degree drop.
He is fearless!
We made it and we are heading back for another round!
What a goofball!
Getting the hang of it!
Actually enjoying it!
The lift still scared me but by the 9th ride I was at least pretending to enjoy myself.
It's hard to get over just how gorgeous it was!
We're cute
There were times when it was crowded but for the most part the slopes had hardly anyone on them.
Such a fun group and a fun weekend.
It was an impromptu trip, spontaneous and silly trip but it was prefect! And (gulp) it turns out I love skiing!
