Today we celebrate Independence day. But it didn't start on this day. I think it started much earlier than that. I believe before we came to this earth, even before it was created, we chose our independence. We chose to come here and live when and where we are!
I was not born in a third world nation, or during a revolutionary war, so I don't know what it would be like to not be able to pray, or worship, or say and do what I want, but I can imagine it. I'm beyond grateful to be right where I am. I'm so thankful for all the men and women who fought and died, prayed, planned and acted on the inspiration that helped found this nation. Because of that we are able to pick our own jobs, I can pray and teach my children the religion of our choice, that we can vote and have a choice in our government leaders locally and nationally. I have always had a great respect for those that decide to become a public servant or join the military. Even if they are not perfect or without flaws or have dangers of their own, and isn't always focused for the greater good. This a one of the few nations that we have the opportunity.
This country is truly a blessed and promised land!
I'm proud, grateful, humbled, and so happy that this is my home. The land that I love.
That I made a choice to be right here, right now, is gift. To me, on this day, we celebrate all those that went before us, who made the choice to be better, do better, be able to believe and worship freely!
There is something very powerful and sacred in our country's name, The United States of America! May we take a moment to thank and remember those before us and thank God for all that He had given us here. God bless America!
You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl!
