My weight loss challenge

So on January 9th this year I signed up for a weight loss group. It was going to run from January 9th till April 3rd. Everyone who joined gave $20 to be in the challenge. With a total of 21 members the winning pot was $420. I have been wanting to lose weight for a while and this was going to be it. So for 12 week I had my plan to finish this and reach my goal. I weighed in at 163.2 lbs. With my weight I have stayed about 155 to 160 for a few years. The last time I weighed under 150 was over 14 years ago. After having my kids I tried to lose the wight I gained from each pregnancy. With my first I gained 25lbs than with the twins I gained 50lbs. Weighing at full term 200lbs :( that was sad. And for my last one I gained 30lbs. After her my wight pretty much stayed by 160 going up and down a few pounds. I was ready do this. I knew I it was going to be hard since I love baking and love bread.

So for my diet I ate during the day lots of veggies and fruit. Drank about 2 liters or more a day of just water and drink more of tea and juice. I juiced fruit and veggies to drink. I only drank water (usually with lemon), herbal tea, and natural juice that I juiced. I ate very few carbs. I started with only eating two pieces of bread ever other day and towards the end I cut out bread, rice and potatoes completely. I did eat a pretty normal dinner, except I made healthier dinners with no red meats and more veggies. If I made spaghetti I eat the homemade sauce with spaghetti squash and not noodles. I in the mornings after getting kids off to school I would workout about an hour or more 4-6 times a week. After my work out I would drink hot water with little bit of honey and cinnamon and ginger and lemon juice. I found some really yummy recipes that I will post at the end of this.

My workouts would be as followed. I start with 30 day shred by Jillian Michaels this workout is about 30 minutes. Than I would do a workout I put together to help the areas I wanted to ether lose more on or tone. Belly,  Arms, and Legs. I would do this for about 25 minutes. I started with two ab exercises and doing each 30 time with 1 rep for abs and 25times with 1 reps for arms. I would do about 6 to 8 exercises for abs and 6 to 8 arms exercises. Than I would do about 4-5 leg exercises. And then ending with a weekly routine I found on Pinterest.

At the end of the Challenge I weighed in at 144.2 lbs! I lost 19 pounds!!! I haven't weighted this amount since I was about 16 yrs old. And after everyone weighing in I also found out that I WON!!!! I was the biggest loser!!! In the best way! Now that I am done with the challenge I do eat bread and other carbs but I find I don't want to eat as many as I did before. I am continuing my exercising still about 4 to 5 times a week. I feel great! Most of my jeans are too big and I went shopping and bought size small shirts because the med was still to big! I was always use to buying large. I also bought smaller jeans!

My morning drink recipe

1 1/4 c hot water (not boiling)
1T honey
1 1/2 t cinnamon
1/2 t ground ginger
1t lemon juice

I first let the honey dissolve in the hot water and then add the cinnamon and ginger. After that is all mixed together I add the lemon juice.
