Chick update, they are almost 3 weeks old and growing everyday! This is a few photos of how big they are getting. We did separate 20 of the layers from the meat chicks, since they are getting crowded. I'll post those photos next time.
And cute little Cornish, he will be a tasty one!
A little layer...breed, unknown still! But I'm thinking a Buff or maybe, something. The kids and I are trying to guess what breed the mystery layers will be!
Today the girls and I planted in the garden, yesterday was over 70'!! And today it was supposed to rain so we quickly planted and finish prepping beds. Each girl has her own bed, to plant whatever they want. E was surprised I would let them choose anything, but they loved picking out seeds.
I turned over soil from last year and added wood chips and covered with fresh sandy, loamy soil. Worms are everywhere!!
The peas are coming up!
The girls yesterday, painted the chicken coop red. It has been there waiting and finally we had warm enough weather. I love that shade of deep apple red.
