Teach a girl to fish.....

In an attempt to try our hand at fishing. The middle of Sept, Emily, E and I went out on the Carbon River. But first let me start at the beginning. Last summer my husband and I talked about getting our fishing licenses and getting salmon, trout, crab. The works! We love seafood!!
But it was too late in the season to try. So this year Emily and I got our licenses, sorted through the vast array of fishing supplies from Grandpa Young, looked online for youtube videos to teach us how to make our own lures, and cast, and where to ideally fish. We were ready to go! We picked a nice calm day, with no rain (that's very important, because I don't like rain and will NOT fish in the rain!) We figured with 3 of us, rods and gear, books, picnic lunch and several hours to kill, we should have a great day and catch some fish!
Right?!.....

The weather was great! The water was cloudy and not too fast, and for 3 hours we cast, and waited... The fish never came. And neither did Robert Redford or Brad Pitt. (it felt very much like A River Runs Through It!!) But we had fun, learned what to do, ate lunch, and even did some reading while waiting for bites. Never fear, we will try again next year. And there will be fish in my freezer!
