Spring Make-overs

Last summer I had hanging baskets with red geraniums and white bacopa, the bacopa died in the fall. The geraniums actually winter over quite well, so to my garage they went! I pulled them out in late March and watered them, by early April I could see how they are doing.

The basket on the left has already sprouted alot! The right one has tiny sprouts.

By mid to late April, the geraniums are green and happy. I bought some new bacopa and here they are!

Jos has been practicing taking nature photos, she snapped this one of our Fuji Apple.

I repotted my lemon tree. It has out grown its old pot. I found this beautiful copper/teal pot at Lowes of all places and I love it!!

My piano has been sitting for the last year waiting for a tune up. Of which I had done in January, so now the kids have started playing and practicing. We found some great piano lessons on YouTube and they are doing really well.  I wanted some more color in our family room so I painted just the bench and bright high gloss classic red! I love the pop of color.

The Before.

The after!

I love the red paint so much I painted our front the same color! And we decorated for Spring! The burlap wreath the girls and I made from a design we found on pinterest, of course!

I have wanted to decorate the front porch for a while now, but haven't found anything I really liked or could afford. I was able to find through a free stuff facebook group, a crib frame that someone was getting rid of. I love the dark cherry color and after a few trial runs, put this together!

For our animal science study we covered birds. Each child picked out a different species of bird and created a report about it, including illustrations. I was so impressed by what the girls did. Lil' man picked a Bald Eagle, and I helped with his illustrations, he colored it all in. halfway through he wanted to make a Seahawk...But we went back to an Eagle, thus the sort of blue-ish eagle!
