This winter has been mild to say the least, and our chickens have loved it! I've pulled up weeds here and there all over the yard and garden and they love the worms that come with it. A friend was going out of town and brought over some food and veggies that she knew would spoil and this lovely head of semi soggy butter lettuce was perfect for a chicken snack. I had this idea that if I hung it up somehow the chickens would eat more of it instead of tossing it on the ground.
My kids thought I was crazy, when I tied the lettuce head upside down in a corner to the fence, and our hens thought is was wonderful!
I didn't take an after photo because by the next day all that was left was the root system!
