The Girl's Bunk Bed

My girl are old enough now to both to be in big girl beds. Their room is to small for two beds, so we wanted a bunk bed. The search was on. I wanted to find one that was not too pricey, but all the ones that were in our budget were ugly and too old. Then Ikea saved us, all their beds were on sale! We bought a wood bunk bed. This is what it looked like at the store.
Just the way it looked was fine but not great. So my husband and I came up with an idea. Painting all the pieces different colors. We went to Lowes and Home Depot and found a medium colored pink that was $5 for a liter and we found six small sample sizes that were all about the same light cream color for $1 each! Part of my job was the mixing colors. We wanted eight colors two pinks(light one and a bright one), two purple ( one light and one bright), a yellow, blue, green, and turquoise. After lots of mixing and tired arms. To make the colors just right for my girls I added colored glitter to all the colors.
I love how it turned out and my girl were so happy!

My husband thought of us painting the bottom of the top bunk to make it all colorful. I love it!
